Washington Wizards Forward Kris Humphries Buys $6.2M Beverly Hills Home
Washington Wizards forward Kris Humphries has acquired a luxury home in California.
Humphries, the 30-year-old basketball player, buys a Beverly Hills estate worth $6.2 million, Los Angeles Times reported. Citing property records, the outlet noted that Humphries was able to get the house for about $300,00 less than it was actually advertised for in May. However, it was said to be only worth around $1.15 million, 16 years ago.
Based on the Multiple Listing Service, the Times noted that the brokers who handled the sale were listing agents James Harris, David Parnes and Mauricio Umansky and Humphries' representative, Jason Oppenheim of the Oppenheim Group.
The Beverly Hills estate's features
The Minnesota-born athlete, who was the former husband of Kim Kardashian, got himself a bachelor home in a posh neighborhood of Los Angeles. Being a gated and highly-secured community, Humphries will enjoy the privacy a basketball celebrity needs.
The estate, which rests on more than three-quarters of L.A. land, is said to have been built in the 1960s. The nearly 3,300-square-foot residence features three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. Other living spaces in the property are a living and dining room complex, a kitchen with an island, a den equipped with a wet bar, a fireplace and an extra bedroom that serves as the athlete's home office.
Interior details boast bright and vibrant ambiance due to an open floor area, naturally-lit living spaces courtesy of spanning glass panels, and addition of skylights.
The power forward who dons the number "43" Washington team's jersey number will surely feel relaxed in his new master suite. The suite comes with its own fireplace to make it cozy during chilly nights and a huge bath tub perfect for the 6-foot-9 and 235-pound player. For his clothes and other accessories, Humphries will thank his walk-in closet as a convenient place to neatly store them.
Outdoors, there is a "kidney-shaped swimming pool" that is equipped with a spa that Humphries must have also liked. A small open area party with friends is possible with amenities like a covered terrace, a barbecue station and a wet bar.
Pictures of the immaculate-looking home are available on Today, which show that the new Humphries estate also has wonderful views of the glittering city.
Humphries' NBA career
Humphries will enter his 12th season this year with the Wizards. He started in 2004 with the Utah Jazz and played for the Toronto Raptors and the Dallas Mavericks, among others, noted ESPN. He averaged 8.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 0.9 assists and a player impact estimate of 11.9 percent in his 64 games with the Wizards, noted NBA.com.
