Moto X & Moto G 2015 Updates: More Specs, Features, Moto Maker Details & Photos of Third Generation Motorola Devices Leaked
As some reports have claimed, Motorola is finally going to unveil the Moto X for 2015 next week but that hasn't stopped rumors and photos of the upcoming model from leaking online. A recent image of the third generation smartphone is circulating the Internet and it seems to offer new insights into the probable specifications and features of the new device.
The image that was first seen on the Google Plus account of a certain Paul Faz showed a unit with a flash at the side of the front camera. Faz uploaded the image with the caption, "Moto X 3rd generation front flash," reported Droid Life.
The photo seems to confirm the earlier reports of the new front flash. Aside from that, the leaked image also showcased a rather large screen for the device. Based from Faz's estimate, it seems that the new device will feature a 5.5-inch display screen. That is a 0.3 addition to the former Moto X that came out with a 5.2-inch display.
Noticeable from the photo is the shape of the unit, which maintained the former body of last year's version. But Motorola might have changed the material of the hardware given that the body seemed to emit a shiny and smooth casing.
There also seemed to be the same front speakers at the bottom of the unit, just below the notice that the device is "Motorola Confidential Property: Not For Sale." This image was first posted on the Peru Android Page on Facebook. No details could be gathered on whether the quality of the speakers has been upgraded into stereo quality or not.
Previous reports hinted that the new unit will come with a 2K display, wrote Tech 2. Other reports pointed to a major overhaul in the camera of the device. A rumored 21MP camera is said to come with the new Moto X, however, it was not mentioned if that is for the rear camera or the front shooter.
Following the footsteps of Apple, it was also said that the company has added a fingerprint scanner to the new device for added security. No details have been released on whether the sensor will also work in the same way as the one included in iOS 7.
Meanwhile, GSM Arena reported that other rumored specifications of the upcoming device point to a 4GB of RAM with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC and expandable storage of 32GB to 64GB. It seems that Motorola also added a long battery life of 3,280 mAh for the unit.
