Hip hop heavyweight and veteran actor Ludacris has joined the growing chorus of stars set to make guest starring appearances on the second season of the Fox smash hit series "Empire."

The once raunchy rapper known for such lyrics as "he has hoes in every area code," recently took to Instagram to post a picture of himself and show costar Terrence Howard, which he simply captioned, "This could get interesting."

In the pic, Luda is in full character, dressed in the same sort of corrections officer uniform he is set to don for his role. At the end of Season 1, Howard's Lucious Lyon character was shipped off to prison on an assortment of charges and Ludacris is slated to be one of the officers standing guard over him.

Show co-creator Lee Daniels has already announced Kelly Rowland, Alicia Keys, Marisa Tomei, Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz, Adam Rodriguez and Common will also be starring in various episodes of Season 2.

Daniels has also hinted that he has held preliminary talks with the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Denzel Washington about also making guest starring appearances.

The first season of the show, which also starred Taraji P. Henson as Cookie Lyon, broke a 23-year record by becoming the first primetime scripted series to grow its audience over each of its first five telecasts.

The show is scheduled to increase from 12 to 18 episodes this season and will be split between the fall and winter months.

"Empire" also stars Trai Byers as Andre Lyon, Jussie Smollett as Jamal Lyon, Bryshere Y. Gray as Hakeem Lyon, Kaitlin Doubleday as Rhonda Lyon and Grace Gealey as Anika Calhoun.

Season 2 will premiere on Sept. 23.
