With Bethesda's unveiling of the reboot game, "Doom," at the E3 event, many fans of the franchise as well as the popular video game publisher have been keen to know more about what's new for the upcoming title from id Software.  While many titles out in the market have embraced the multiplayer cooperative mode, it was confirmed that the reboot game will not have the same feature on its main campaign.

The news was announced at the recent QuakeCon event. Doom Executive Producer Marty Stratton spoke to PC Gamer to confirm the report.

However, Stratton offered a glimmer of hope to players who were disappointed with the news. According to the video game chief, there is a possible way to create a co-op campaign in the upcoming game with the use of the SnapMap tool.

The SnapMap is a customization tool that will come out with "Doom," noted Game Rant. It was included to help players personalize their experiences in the game with new maps and game modes to enjoy and share to other players.

"Yes. In a sense. You create a level experience, and then to create a campaign-type thing you would link those [levels] together in, like, a playlist," shared Stratton.

But he added that the players will not have the ability to bring weapons to the next levels.

"You wouldn't necessarily carry weapons from one level to the next," he added. "The author could set it up knowing you have this set of weapons as you go into this next component. It's a little bit more like a playlist."

It might not be the same as an actual cooperative campaign but the video game executive producer said it can all change in the "future iterations" of the title.

Previous titles of "Doom" included a multiplayer co-op mode and many were surprised to know that the upcoming title opted to focus on the main single player campaign instead.

Meanwhile, it was also confirmed that id Software is moving forward with the development of the multiplayer Alpha for the new title. In fact, it is set to be out for public testing soon, according to the Bethesday Blog.

Players who pre-ordered "Wolfenstein: The New Order" will be able to test the game before its official launch date in 2016. No exact date has been given for the multiplayer beta release.

Bethesda will launch "Doom" in 2016 for the current generation consoles of PS4, Xbox One as well as for the PC.
