Bill Cosby Sex Assault News Update: New York Magazine Photographs 35 of Famed Comedians's Alleged Victims for Cover Story
Some 35 of Bill Cosby's accusers are photographed in a new New York magazine article detailing how the famed comedian allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted them.
The New Daily News reports the issue is slated to hit newsstands on Monday and recounts harrowing moments many of the women claimed they were forced to endure at the hands of the now 77-year-old Cosby.
In one instance, a woman claims Cosby "put his forearm under her throat" after she alerted hotel staff she was only 19 and staying with the "Cosby Show" legend. In another case, one woman claims remembering being so disoriented she could barely form words, yet recalls Cosby leering at her with "a very predatory look on his face."
The age of the women range from their early 20s to 80. Some claim social status did not matter when it came to Cosby's victims.
According to a running list on Slate, waitresses, Playboy bunnies, journalists and women at various stages of Hollywood careers are among the diverse crowd hurling the accusations, though they all claim Cosby's wholesome nature and apparent moral compass made it easier for them to fall victim to him.
"I went into this thinking he was going to be my father. To wake up half-dressed and raped by the man that said he was going to love me like a father? That's pretty sick," Barbara Bowman, 48, said, of her encounters with Cosby in the 1980s.
Former "Cosby Show" writer Sammie Mays, 57, claims an assault perpetrated on her nearly 30 years ago derailed her life.
"When I see Jell-O pudding, it comes flooding back," she said. "Bill Cosby, that encounter, that one time, played a major factor in the direction my life took, toward the dark side."
The article claims a total of 46 women have now come forward to allege they were assaulted by Cosby and many of them claim they have been contacted by other victims who have not yet told their stories.
Earlier this month, Cosby was ordered to undergo a legal grilling at the hands of famed attorney Gloria Allred as part of an ongoing sexual assault case filed against him by former Playboy bunny Judy Huth.
Radar reports Allred will be allowed to question Cosby as the legal probe into the sexual assault allegations moves forward.
Initially, Allred had been scheduled to depose Cosby on June 26, but his team of high-powered attorneys were able to block those proceedings. Cosby's efforts at avoiding the witness chair were quashed when the California Supreme Court denied his latest petition.
