The Apple Watch will soon be available for purchase at Best Buy.

Best Buy announced on Sunday it will start selling Apple's smart watch Aug. 7 at their retail stores and online, CNET reports.

"The Apple Watch is an important addition to an emerging product category, and we know our customers want it," Jason Bonfig, senior category officer at Best Buy, said. "We are excited to bring Apple Watch to more consumers, especially with the holidays coming up."

Beginning in August, Best Buy will start selling the Apple Watch at more than 100 of its stores in the U.S, with an additional 200 stores set to offer it as well before the holiday season. The Apple Watch Sport, which starts at $349 and the Apple Watch, which starts at $549, will both be available. Best Buy will also offer several straps and other accessories for the smartwatches.

"Our customers will be able to see, try and buy 16 Apple Watch models -- including Sport and Watch models in both 38mm and 42mm sizes -- and nearly 50 accessories, including watch bands, screen shields, stands, chargers and more," Best Buy said.

Until this announcement, the Apple Watch was only available through Apple's online and retail stores. Select high-end boutiques and department stores also offered it. Apple has said that demand has exceeded its initial estimates and the company wants to make the Apple Watch available for more customers.

The Real Reason Behind Apple's Best Buy Move?

But analysts have argued over the actual sales figures on the Apple Watch, which the company did not make public in its last quarterly report. Many analysts and research firms believe that initial sales for the Apple Watch were low in Apple's fiscal third-quarter, which ended in June.

During a conference call after the release of the last quarter's results, CEO Tim Cook said, "Sales of the watch did exceed my expectations, despite supply trailing demand at the end of the quarter." Still, analysts lowered their sales forecasts for the watch following the announcement of the third quarter results.

Citing analysis from email receipts, research firm Slice Intelligence estimated that Apple had sold 2.79 million units of the Apple Watch between April and mid-June. Slice noted that sales have cooled off greatly since the first week of sales.

Analysts surveyed by Fortune last week offered several different estimates ranging from 2.85 million all the way to 5.7 million units. The average of these estimates was around 4 million. If Apple did sell 4 million Apple Watches like Strategy Analytics believes, it would give them a 75 percent share in the smartwatch market. But not all analysts believe the 4 million sales figure is even mathematically possible.

Gene Munster, an analyst at Piper Jaffray, said that sales may be sluggish now, but he thinks that demand will increase in a couple of years and will keep increasing. Munster believes that 40 million units will be sold by 2017.
