OnePlus 2 was officially introduced Monday evening, and its release date was finally announced. Even before the official announcement, leaked photos started surfacing, according to The Verge.

The OnePlus 2 will go on sale Aug. 11.

Monday morning in the Android Central Forums, a user known as Chinaleakking said they had early access to the OnePlus 2 and was able to take high-definition photos of the handset and post them to the forum.

Chinaleakking also posted links to these pictures on the XDA Developers forum. On this site, Chinaleakking says that he is a beta tester from China who has had the OnePlus 2 for "a few weeks."

In his short review he says that the OnePlus 2 has an "ugly design," but good crafting. He says the handset is thicker in design, but still feels good in his hand.

The camera used in the OnePlus 2 will come equipped with image stabilization as expected. However, according to Chinaleakking's review, the camera will not use a Sony sensor.

A fingerprint sensor will be built into the home button on the front of the OnePlus 2. Chinaleakking called the fingerprint sensor "so, so" and said it was not quite sensitive enough. OnePlus has said that its fingerprint sensor will be "twice as fast as any iPhone," so hopefully they can keep this promise.

The OnePlus 2 will use a customized version of Android 5.1 Lollipop. OnePlus calls their custom interface Oxygen. Chinaleakking says that Oxygen is not complete yet and filled with bugs.

A brand new port called USB-C will be used by the OnePlus 2. USB-C cords can be plugged in from either direction because they are reversible.

There will be two choices of models for the OnePlus 2. For $329, a OnePlus 2 with 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage can be purchased. Step up to the model with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage for $389, according to AnAndTech.

Before its official launch, there will be special "pop-up" events in select cities throughout the world. At these events, customers can have a hands-on experience with the OnePlus 2 and take home a special gift bag.
