Drivers looking to cop a small truck that's not a monster on fuel and the pocket may now relax. Chevrolet has finally announced the upcoming 2016 Colorado with a turbo-diesel engine that will make any truck aficionado ready to run to the dealers when it comes out.

When the American car manufacturer came out with the updated version of the Colorado last year, many were excited to try and ride the midsized vehicle.

However, the 2015 edition only came in two variants. A 2.5 liter four-cylinder or a 3.6 liter V-6 engine, which takes too much fuel. This of course, is concern for many nowadays considering the rising prices of gas.

But the people in Chevrolet have finally heard the concerns of many customers as they've fixed the problem with a new addition to their Colorado versions for 2016. The company is finally coming out with a 2.8 liter Duramax turbo-diesel option, reported Four Wheeler Network.

Even with a diesel option, the manufacturer did not skimp on power with the new truck. It will have a speed of 181 horsepower at 3,400 RPM and 369-pound-feet of torque at 2,000 RPM.

The specs give the Colorado a towing power and capacity of 7,700 pounds for any 2-wheel drive vehicles. And with a "standard Z82 towing package and integrated trailer-brake controller" that comes with the vehicle, doing so will never have to be a challenge again, said Digital Trends.

The upcoming Colorado will also have a six-speed automatic transmission for either the four-wheel or rear-wheel drive versions.

As with any diesel-run engines, one of the concerns is the noise that comes out of the machine. But the manufacturer has found a way to fix the extra noise and vibrations that come off with the addition of a Centrifugal Pendulum Vibration Absorber to the torque converter.

Aside from that, a "cooled exhaust-gas recirculation system" helps the machine maintain a low combustion temperature. Chevrolet also added an exhaust brake that helps a vehicle slow down with the use of engine compression, thus keeping pressure and wear on the mechanical brakes of the truck.

According to Truck Yeah, one can have the lowest version of the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado for the price of $31,700.

However, additional features such as rear-window defrosters, fog lamps, lane-departure and forward-collision alerts, damped tailgate and remote start can bring the base price for the midsized truck up to $33,520.

As with any diesel-run vehicles, the price will be slightly higher with its gas counterpart and the 2016 Colorado is no exception. The diesel version will be around $3,730 higher than the 3.6 liter gasoline V6 make.
