The "Star Wars Battlefront" gameplay trailer reveal in the recent E3 event has left many fans of the franchise eager for more details about the upcoming game. Electronic Arts is now offering more information about its new title and the multiplayer modes that are set to arrive in the game.

The video game publisher came out with a statement on its official website to inform fans that more details are headed their way at the upcoming Gamescom event in Cologne this August.

According to the announcement, new "multiplayer modes along with a brand-new gameplay footage and even a new hero type" will be unveiled at the annual convention. Given that the mention of mode is in the plural form, it can only mean that there will be more than one multiplayer option in the upcoming game.

No actual details were revealed about the new multiplayer modes. However, EA hinted that the "new and unique game mode" will be something "Starfighter" fans will absolutely be eager and excited about.

Game Rant speculated that the new mode can be a lot of things but it might be that the classic "Star Wars" vehicles will play a major part in it.  The site also noted that it's likely the developers will focus on vehicle battles instead of ground-based combats.

There are currently six multiplayer modes confirmed for the game. These are the Walker Assault, Blast, Drop Zone, Cargo, Supremacy and Fighter Squadron, "Star Wars" Community Manager Matthew Everett confirmed on the game's official website.

Missions mode can be played both online and offline for the single player campaign of "Star Wars Battlefront."

EA also promised a new hero type in its upcoming Gamescom reveal. The publisher has only confirmed three Heroes/Villains at the moment. These are Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett and Darth Vader. No hint has been made on which character it will be.

Everett added that the heroes and villains will be part of multiplayer modes and maps in the upcoming game that "suit their abilities" best.

Fans can check out the game in the upcoming Gamescom as it will be playable in the event. For those who reside in Southern California, the game will also be live and playable at the upcoming D23 Expo.

Everett also informed that those in Australia can check out the game at the EB Games Expo to try it first hand before it hits retailers in November.

"Star Wars Battlefront" will be available to current generation consoles from Sony and Microsoft and the PC starting November 17, 2015.
