Donald Trump's fondness of Sarah Palin could mean a spot for the former Alaskan governor in his administration if he is elected president in 2016.

The New York Daily News reports the outspoken Trump had nothing but praise for the controversial Palin during a Tuesday night gathering.

"She's really somebody who knows what's happening," he said during a MamaGrizzRadio interview. "She's a special person. And I think people know that and she's got a following that's unbelievable."

When directly asked if he ever saw himself seeking advice from Palin or even appointing her to a cabinet position, the 2016 GOP hopeful responded, "I'd love that."

Trump later claimed no matter where he travels voters exalt him to more align himself with the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, who came to be known as "Sarah Barracuda."

The billionaire real estate mogul's remarks aren't the first time the real estate mogul has expressed fondness for the Palin. Earlier this year, he called Palin "beautiful" and said he was "honored" by a skit she starred in during the "Saturday Night Live" 40th anniversary special in which she joked that the pair could even run on a ticket together in 2016.

And on her 50th birthday last year, Trump penned her a letter praising her as a "spectacular woman."

Trump has also hinted that he's convinced he and Palin are cut from the same cloth in that both are both targets of intense scrutiny from political foes and yet manage to take it all in stride as they go on about their dealings.

"One of the things I most admire so much about her is that she took so much nonsense, lies, disgusting lies," he said. "And she handles it so well. She's tough and smart and just a great woman."
