Angry Birds 2 Is Here, Available for iOS, Android
Angry Birds 2 is here and ready to be downloaded for Apple iOS and Android devices.
According to Business Insider, this is actually the 13th version of Angry Birds but the only game creator Rovio feels is worthy of the name, Angry Birds 2. This game is "the first sequel" to the original Angry Birds, and unlike the game's other variants, such as Star Wars, this game will be based on the original.
The object of the game will not change -- users will still use slingshots to propel birds into objects that protect pigs. The gameplay will be improved to include new multistage levels, spells and boss battles with pigs, according to Engadget.
Just like in other Angry Birds versions, each bird variety has different capabilities. In Angry Birds 2, the birds will be represented by cards at the bottom of the screen, and they can be selected before the level starts. New objects and a new bird has been added to the sequel.
Angry Birds 2 will be challenging, and when a player runs out of lives before completing a level, they will either have to start spending real money or patiently wait for lives to regenerate.
In each level, players will have just three lives to complete the level, according to Android Police. That means once they run out of cards, a life is lost. Lives will be regenerated after 30 minutes or by spending 60 gems. Players can purchase 80 gems for $0.99, and there are other amounts available as well.
To get players excited about the game, Rovio is offering some in-game bonuses if they complete the first world of Angry Birds 2 within the next two weeks.
Angry Birds 2 is a free download available from the Google Play or Apple Store. Although the game is free, there are in-app purchases to tempt players with gems and additional lives.
Rovio hopes Angry Birds 2 will be a big hit because the company has really been struggling over the years.
