The two newest smartphones from Samsung are packed with advanced features, but they have not been selling as well as Samsung wants. As a result, Samsung plans to adjust the price on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge, according to TechRadar.

Samsung has introduced a new strategy to adjust prices in its quarter two 2015 earnings report.

In the press release Samsung states, "While the IT & Mobile Communications (IM) Division is expected to face a difficult business environment, the sales momentum for high-end products will be maintained by adjusting the price of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge and introducing new premium smartphone models."

The two new premium smartphones Samsung mentioned are expected to be the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge+. The Galaxy Note 5 is expected to be an update to the large-screened Galaxy Note 4. The Galaxy S6 Edge+ will be an update to the Galaxy S6 Edge, which features curved edges. The Galaxy S6 Edge+ will likely get a bigger screen, which is why it is using the "+" in its name.

Samsung has not explained what the price adjusting procedure means, but a person familiar with the company's plans says they plan to cut the prices on the Galaxy S6 devices, CNET reports. With mobile sales dropping by 7.3 percent in the second quarter, price-cutting could help convince customers to purchase a Galaxy S6.

Samsung used to be the world's largest smartphone maker, but lately the company has seen customers switching over to devices from rivals like Apple and LG. Even low-cost brands like Xiaomi and Huawei are starting to take a bite into Samsung's sales.

Customers who are on the fence about purchasing a Galaxy S6 can only hope the price cut by Samsung is significant. The lowest model of the Galaxy S6 sells for $570.
