'Batman vs Superman' Release Date, Cast & News Update: Dwayne Johnson to Play Green Lantern in 'Man of Steel 2'?
The Rock is rumored to join the already star-studded cast of 'Man of Steel 2' aka 'Batman vs Superman,' reports Enstars.
Dwayne Johnson posted a photo on Instagram including the hashtag #JohnStewartCanStillWhupSupermansAss. The post instantly caught the attention of fans who were on the lookout for news regarding upcoming The Rock movies.
The Rock's full caption with the controversial hashtag on his Instagram upload reads:
"Known this beast since he was 15. I was on the football field playing for Miami, he was leading the Hurricanes marching band as Drum Major. He spent years of working on my WWE story lines & Rock monologues. Then years of being on every movie set with me learning the film business from top to bottom. Today, he's one of the best and most sought after producers in Hollywood. Brilliant, relentless and one big motherf*cker! Proud of you brother & thank you for all the hard work. #ProducerHiram #TeamRock #JohnStewartCanStillWhupSupermansAss"
Upon further prodding on Twitter, the WWE star responded, saying, "All I said was.. #LanternCanWhupSuperman" to IGN's "Did @TheRock reveal that he's playing John Stewart/Green Lantern?" question.
The wrestler turned Hollywood actor tweeted about a 2014 DC Comics project last year, says IGN though no other info relating to such project has been dished out yet.
"We just had a big meeting w/ Warner Bros CEO re: @DCComics 2014 we will partner up and create the cool bad assery. #RockTalk @ActionTilson," @TheRock tweeted.
Should Dwayne Johnson be joining the cast of 'Batman vs Superman,' as Green Lantern, he will be playing alongside Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Jeremy Irons as Alfred, notes Enstars.
If not, IGN predicts that the former wrestler might also be cast as Lobo, Black Adam or still Green Lantern, but this time, in the rumored 'Justice League of America' film.
