Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is more than just a high-definition remake of the original Gears of War game: It's the complete series packed into one Xbox One game.

The new Gears of War will include Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3 and Gears of War: Judgment, Tech Radar reports. These games were originally made for Xbox 360, but thanks to an announcement made earlier this summer, Xbox One will be able to play Xbox 360 games through backward compatibility.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition took the original Gears of War game and recreated it with much-improved next-generation graphics, better cinematics and modernized gameplay for an even better experience.

There will be new maps, modes and missions, early access to the Gears of War 4 multiplayer beta, new achievements, improved haptic feedback and an additional difficulty level, Xbox Wire reports.

To access the entire series, players will have to play the Ultimate Edition sometime during the period between Aug. 25 and Dec. 31. This will give them access to each game.

The older versions of Gears of War will come with some next-gen features the Xbox One currently uses. Players will be able to use Game DVR, Snap, screenshots and more with the entire series of Gears of War.

Players currently part of the Xbox One preview program will be able to start playing the original Gears of War game Monday. Xbox One's backward compatibility was designed to allow players to continue playing their old Xbox 360 titles without having to purchase new ones.

The Gears of War series was extremely popular, and thousands of Xbox players requested the older titles be made playable on the Xbox One.
