‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Season 3 News: New Captain Is Named
With all the twists and turns that took place in Season 2 of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," there is still a vacancy left on the show following the departure of Captain Holt (Andre Braugher). Not to worry though because Braugher will still be in the series, just not as a captain, as reported by Cinema Blend.
But according to TVLine, fans are going to love how the premiere episode will take place on the third season of this hit show on Fox.
Executive producer for the show Mike Schur sat down with TVLine and gave them some details about how the show is going to open up next season.
"Everyone is going to be really happy with who the new captain is," Schur told TVLine.
"And the way that the [Sept. 27 Season 3 premiere] is conceived, that is far from the final surprise. It takes a lot of fun story twists and turns, in very rapid succession, once the new captain is announced. It's going to be a really funny and good episode."
This is not uncommon for the show that brings the comedy in the form of many twists and turns as the characters play off each other so well. The rapid laughs have been something that fans expect of the show and what has made it such a mainstay for the audience.
There has also been news of a new person added to the cast, namely Archie Panjabi of "The Good Wife," according to A.V. Club. This sounds like perfect timing to suspect that maybe she will be the one that Schur was speaking off when he spoke about who the new captain is going to be.
A.V. Club reports that she will be joining the "B99" unit as Lieutenant Knox, and she will also have her eye on one of the regulars, Joe Lo Truglio.
