Nick Gordon reportedly paid his respects to late girlfriend Bobbi Kristina Brown in the best way he knew how.

Banned by her family from attending formal services for her, People magazine reports Gordon's mom insists her son spent the day of her funeral at the beach with her grieving for Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown's 22-year-old daughter.

"Nick went to the beach with me on Friday during the services," Michelle Gordon said of her son. "He said the beach was always their favorite place to go, so he decided that he would honor her at a place that they both loved."

Bobbi Kristina's family members let it be publicly be known that the 25-year-old was not welcome and never again allowed him to see her after she was found face down in the bathtub of the Roswell home they shared in late January.

The conservator of Bobbi Kristina's estimated $20 million, Bedelia C. Hargrove, has now served him with a $40 million lawsuit alleging he physically abused her and "transferred a large portion of her funds" into an account that he had complete control over.

During the week of her services, Gordon sent an email to her father Bobby Brown and Aunt Pat Houston pleading with them to allow him to attend the funeral.

"I loved Krissi with all my heart and I am destroyed that she is gone and I need to say goodbye," he wrote. "I'm begging you both to please put your differences aside and allow me this chance. Krissi loved me very much and she would want me there. Please consider this?"

Bobbi Kristina died under hospice care nearly six months after she was rushed to a hospital emergency room and has since been buried alongside her Grammy Award-winning mother in New Jersey. Even with Gordon not there, there was plenty of drama.

At one point, Bobbi Kristina's aunt, Leolah Brown, shouted down Pat Houston and later told reporters Whitney Houston will haunt her from the grave.

"This has only just begun," she said.
