The new series on ABC, "Wicked City," will chronicle the exploits of a serial killer and will be a seasonal anthology series, much like "American Horror Story" on FX. According to Deadline, the first season of the series will be set in 1982 Los Angeles.

The show will follow the lead of the highly successful FX series and make the season a one-part conclusive run. There has been no word yet if it will also be casting the same actors throughout the series run, if it gets more season orders. But "AHS" alum Taissa Farmiga has been cast in one of the starring roles for the series' first season.

The setting for Season 1 will take place on the infamous Sunset Strip in Los Angeles during the rise of glam rock and heavy metal. The Strip was very well known to be a place of general debauchery and degradation within the rock music business.

The trailer shows the murderer as he starts to lay down a pattern for his modus operandi when he kills his women.

In one scene from the trailer, the man has a woman in his car, and she gives him oral sex while a song plays that he dedicated to her. That is when the killer strikes her and dumps her body in a nearby cemetery.

Although detectives are baffled by the body, they soon learn that he is dedicating songs on the radio to his victims, just before he kills them.

This is a new stretch for on-air broadcast television, which has typically strayed away from shows like this due to FCC regulations. But ABC, which is owned by Disney, is bringing the show to its network this fall for a 10-episode run.

The show really takes a victimizing approach toward women, but showrunner Amy Harris said she wants to keep that theme to a minimum.
