Terrell Owens and Rachel Snider Relationship: Former NFL Star Files for Divorce Two Weeks After Wedding
Because nothing celebrates the sanctity of marriage like filing for divorce just two weeks after getting married, NFL star Terrell Owens has announced that his wife has filed for divorce after less than 14 days of being formally married.
According to Fox News Sports, Owens and Rachel Snider got married in a Los Angeles courthouse on Jan. 23 and, as of yesterday, she filed the papers demanding a divorce. "I fell in love ... and now I feel betrayed and heartbroken," she said in a statement. Of course, less than 48 hours ago, she took to her Twitter to gush about her husband, and what she'd like to get him for Valentine's day. "Wow almost Valentines day ! What does a wife get a husband ?? And what does a husband get a wife ?? So new to me !!" she wrote at the time.
According to TMZ, the reason for Snider filing for divorce is because she feels "used." Whereas most women marry athletes for their money and get accused of being "gold-diggers," Snider claims that the OPPOSITE is true: that Owens married HER so he could get a loan for a $2 million house in Sherman Oaks, Calif. "I really valued his love and friendship for 5 years. Out of the love in my heart, I tried to help him. We had a secret relationship for 5 years and I married him for love," she told TMZ.
Nevertheless, publicly at least, she's declaring her support of her soon-to-be ex-husband. "My husband is a great man, an amazing athlete, father, and friend. He will succeed in all he does. His future is full of golden opportunities. For 5 years I loved and cherished this man as a friend, and a brother Christ.I can only wish the best for him. My love is never ending," she wrote on her Twitter.
