Samsung 18.4-Inch Tablet Leaked? Fans React, Is it Real or Just a Typo?
Samsung is reportedly testing out an 18.4-inch tablet as photos of a shipping list showed that the South Korean giant company has produced a huge tablet that is now in India for testing.
Based on the image posted on French website No Where Else, all seven 18.4-inch tablets will be destroyed after the evaluation.
According to GSM Arena, destroying the test items could be a sign Samsung does not want more leaks in the near future and could also suggest that it will not be released on a large-scale basis.
The tablet could be released into a small niche because the screen size is too big for normal use, as previous reports indicated that the company received bad feedback from users of their previous big tablets.
Fans quickly reacted on the alleged 18.4-inch tablet. One user, who read the article on GSM Arena, commented that the leaked device could be named Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 18.4, and it could be released for the niche market.
"The tablet is recorded in the testing and evaluation list in India. According to the picture it has an S pen on the side," the reader wrote. "This mean the device could be named Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 18.4". It is similar to Wacom Cintiq productivity tablet that can be used by designer, engineer, architect and other professional jobs."
GSM Arena pointed out, though, that the price tag of INR 32,371, which is equivalent to $507, is too cheap for an 18.4-inch tablet. If the information shown on the image are accurate, the tech website said the price indicated on the photo could be the amount of money Samsung spent to produce the unit.
A reader on Sam Mobile also provided an intriguing theory. The reader, nicknamed Ginge22, said that it could be a case of typographical error. User Archon810 also had the same take, saying that it could be an 8.4-inch tablet, not an 18.4-inch device.
Do you think Samsung will really release an 18.4-inch tablet in the near future?
