Mega Millions Numbers & Results Aug. 4, 2015: Live Stream of Drawing Time; $20M Jackpot
The Mega Millions jackpot is inching up again, and if you're hoping to take home $20 million just in time for the weekend, then you might want to tune in tonight at 11 p.m. EDT. That's when the multistate lottery's draw is set to take place at the studios of WSB-TV, Atlanta's ABC affiliate.
If you happen to score the big prize and want to pocket every last penny, the total will be paid out in annual installments over a 29-year period. Otherwise, you have the option of an immediate lump sum payout of about $12 million.
The lottery's winning numbers from the last drawing on Aug. 4 were 2, 19, 44, 51, 57; the Mega Ball number was 14; and the Megaplier number was 2, according to the game's official website.
The estimated jackpot had been $15 million, but no one matched the winning Mega Millions numbers on that day, Online Casino Archives noted. Nevertheless, the drawing produced at least three new millionaires. One player matched five numbers and the Gold Mega Ball, scoring $2 million, while two more accomplished the same feat without the Megaplier, receiving $1 million each.
Last Friday, a lucky player in Missouri matched the right numbers and won $25 million, according to KTVI. The win came just 10 days after a Pennsylvania participant had taken home a $152 million Mega Millions jackpot on July 21, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette recalled.
Mega Millions drawings take place every Tuesday and Friday, and the draw entry closes at 10:45 p.m. EDT. Tickets to the game are sold in 43 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands, a total of 45 jurisdictions. The odds of winning any prize are about 1 in 15, but your chances of hitting the jackpot are only about 1 in 259 million.
