'New Girl' Star Zooey Deschanel Flaunts Wedding Ring After Marrying Jacob Pechenik
The very private "New Girl" star Zooey Deschanel has been spotted in Austin, Texas, with her healthy baby girl and husband, producer Jacob Pechenik, whom she married in a secret ceremony about three months ago.
According to US Weekly the 35-year-old actress donned a black and pink dress but what caught people's eyes is her huge diamond sparkler, believed to be her wedding ring.
Deschanel and Pechenik's road to family-life
In January, the couple announced their engagement and confirmed that Deschanel is expecting her first child.
About four months after, they bought a new home in Manhattan Beach for more than $4.5 million. Variety described it as a "new quasi-Cape Cod/Colonial-style residence."
Photos of the home featured on Curbed show remarkable interior details like naturally-lit living spaces, intricate chandeliers and dark hardwood flooring.
In May, the actress unloaded her three-bedroom house in Hollywood Hills for nearly $2.2 million. The property, which she bought from actor Mark Ruffalo who portrayed "Hulk" in the "Avengers" movies, sold quickly, Realtor.com reported.
Soon after, Deschanel and Pechenik exchanged vows on June 21, and their marriage was only revealed in August, along with news of their daughter's birth.
Back in 2012, the actress was not open to the idea of having children. She told Marie Claire, "My sister was always very motherly, babysitting and stuff. I like kids, and I like being around kids, but it was never an ambition, something, like, I need... I like working. That's what I like doing. I like to work."
Three years later, the actress is embracing family life as she put her career on hold, now that she's a new mom.
But what will happen with "New Girl"?
The Hollywood Reporter sat down with creator Liz Meriwether in May, and she gave updates on what fans can expect when the show returns this fall.
"The first episode without her is actually called 'No Girl.' I think in the first or second season, it would have been hard, but now it feels like this creative opportunity to learn more about the other characters. And it's a little bit of a challenge. People are going to be asking, 'How are they going to pull this off?' I'm kind of asking that question of myself. I directed the first episode without Zooey, that's the last one we shot this year, and it's really funny. It's a guys' episode. It's an opportunity to stretch ourselves... Or it will be a total disaster, and then she'll come back," said Meriwether.
