On Monday, 2K Sports released its first gameplay footage for NBA 2K16. The video is focused on cover athlete Stephen Curry and is narrated by Spike Lee, according to Gamespot.

In the video, Curry's story is told all the way from his childhood up to the NBA and winning a title with the Golden State Warriors. Videos of Curry as a child, a high school player, a college player and finally an NBA superstar are shown.

There is very little actual gameplay shown in the video because most of it is video clips of the real life Curry. There is a clip of Curry in NBA 2K16 dribbling around a crowd of defenders though.

Throughout the video, Lee tells Curry's story about his doubters who said he would not make it to the pros because of his height. It explains how Curry rose to stardom and ended up casting his "own shadow."

At the end of the video Lee asks, "So, what will your story be?" The video ends with NBA 2K16 tagline "Be The Story."

Curry is one of three cover stars that will be featured for NBA 2K16. The video released this week is part one of a three-part miniseries that will showcase the three cover athletes. The other two cover athletes are Anthony Davis and James Harden. They will get similar videos that will tell their "stories" as they went through their basketball lives to become the stars they are today.

Lee is a collaborator for NBA 2K16 and helped create the dialogue and stories involved in the MyPlayer mode.

NBA 2K16 is officially being released on Sept. 29 on Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and the PC. Players who preorder the game will be able to start playing it four days early, Gamespot reports. By preordering, players will also be awarded with 10,000 Virtual Currency (VC) and other in-game bonuses.
