John Travolta plays a decent and convincing bad guy especially in the form of Sean Archer/Castor Troy in "Face/Off," Gabriel Shear in "Swordfish," Howard Saint in the 2004 film "The Punisher," and even a dreadlocked sociopath alien in one of the worst films ever made.

So, in the grand tradition of playing villains, the actor has set his eyes on the most well-known bad guy in the movie industry: a Bond villain.

In an interview with the Telegraph, Travolta said, "I would love that. They're going a different way with their villain in the next film but I've spoken to Barbara Broccoli about it and she loves the idea, so that would be great."

Broccoli is a film producer and has closely worked in the James Bond franchise. She has produced recent Bond films which starred Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig.

But it's not likely that we'll see Travolta in the James Bond 24 film since he clarified that it'll be going in a different way. With the acquisiton of the film rights, there is a huge possibility that iconic supervillain Ernst Stavro Blofeld could make an appearance in Bond 24.

But who knows, maybe Blofeld won't appear in 24 and is being prepped for Bond 25 instead. If this happens, then there is certainly enough time to prepare Travolta for the role of Blofeld. The actor did say in the interview that he won't quit being a movie bad guy until he gets a villainous role in a James Bond film.

James Bond 24 is set for a U.K. release on October 23, 2015, and in the U.S on November 6 of the same year. Screenwriter John Logan says the movie will pick up from the events of Skyfall. Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, and Naomie Harris have been confirmed to reprise their roles in the upcoming film.
