One thing that fans of "Supernatural" have always wanted was a successful spinoff for the series.

Back in 2014, the show "Supernatural: Bloodlines" failed to launch on the network. But now, according to Zap2it, the show may be getting a new companion series.

What has been so unique about the show is that it has loads of staying power on the network. CW President Mark Pedowitz told Zap2it that it will stay on the air for as long as the stars want to do it.

"If the numbers hold, the guys wanna do it, we're in," Pedowitz said.

So that being said, a spinoff would be just that, not a replacement. The spinoff that most people have been clamoring for is the "Wayward Daughters" angle, which at this point is nothing more than a fan theory, or a wish. This would be a show that focuses on Sheriff Jody Mills, Alex and Claire filling the same roles that Dean and Sammy Winchester play on the original show. That of course would also mean that Mills would be more of a "Bobby" figure.

In regards to a spinoff happening though, Pedowitz was very open to it and sounded like it is going to happen.

"We'd love to do one. It probably would not happen this year, but at some point there will be another swing," Pedowitz said.

But when they brought up the fan theory of "Wayward Daughters," he smiled at the notion and seemed receptive, but unknowing of it.

"I have not [heard of that]!" Pedowitz told Zap2it. "That I've not heard, but I know the characters very well."

Season 11 of "Supernatural" premieres on the CW network on Oct. 7 this year. It has proven to keep a solid fan base and a loyal following over the past decade, with nothing but growing numbers.

"They've done a terrific job, and I'm very excited about the guys wanting to keep on doing it," Pedowitz said. "They bring fresh enthusiasm to it each week. Jeremy Carver, Adam Glass, Eric Kripke, their team, how they do it year in and year out is great."
