The eight remaining contestants of MasterChef US will face their grossest and most challenging pressure test in this week's episode 14 called, "Getting A-head in the Competition," while they try to wow the judges with a vegetarian meal in the team challenge.

Shelly went home last week as she failed to impress the judges with her chicken and waffles creation while Hetal and Tommy shined, assuring that they become the leads for this week's team challenge.

It seems such a great timing for Hetal to lead a group, as this week's team challenge will require them to prepare vegetarian dishes, which happens to be her area of expertise. Olivia, Claudia and Derrick joined the vegetarian chef as members of the blue team.

This means that Tommy will have Stephen, Nick and Katrina as part of the members of the red team.

The losers of the team challenge will have to make a dish out of animal heads in this week's pressure test, noted Carter Matt.

It does seem ironic that the show will put side to side a vegetarian dish challenge and an animal head pressure test. However, the real pressure might not come from the actual preparation of the dish but more on the fact that the animal's empty eyes will be staring at the chef as they cook.

It seems that Tommy and the rest of his members will struggle in the team challenge, noted Carter Matt in another article. Based on the promo trailer for this week's episode, the pressure will be too much for Tommy and it might lead to him cracking under pressure.

However, it seems that Hetal was unable to put to good use her vegetarian cooking experience as she was seen wearing a black pressure test apron - that could only mean her team lost in the challenge.

Being vegetarian, it might be double the challenge for Hetal to cook a meal that she does not eat and from an animal's head, which is not very appetizing to look at.

The photo was posted on MasterChef's official Twitter page, with the caption, "Who do you think will be getting ahead on Wednesday's all new #MasterChef?"

With only seven remaining contestants after this week's episode, the race to the MasterChef finish line is becoming more intense and it seems that the ball is on anybody's court at the moment. Although there are clear favorites, some chefs can still impress the judges in the upcoming episodes.

"MasterChef US" airs every Wednesday at 8 p.m. on Fox.
