It's the season for phone releases once again and joining the club for soon-to-be-unveiled devices are Google's Nexus 5 and Nexus 6. Reports have come up that the tech giant has tapped not one, but two companies to make their upcoming smartphones.

According to Tech Crunch, Google has collaborated with both LG and Huawei to make the new Nexus devices. The Korean company will be in charge of making a reboot of the compact 2013 Nexus 5 while Huawei will reportedly make a larger version Nexus 6 phablet.

This is not the first time LG has made a smartphone with Google's Android operating system. In 2012, the Korean company manufactured the Nexus 4 and the Nexus 5 in 2013.

More details about the upcoming reboot of the Nexus 5 and 6 have been revealed on Twitter.

Renowned tech tipster @OnLeaks shared rumored specifications of the devices.

"#LG's New #NEXUS: Likely Metal Body, roughly 146.9x72.9x8/9.8mm, 5.2" Screen, Front Facing Speakers, Fingerprint Sensor on the Back, USB Type-C," posted @OnLeaks about the Nexus 5.

On the other hand, he noted that the Nexus 6 will have almost the same specs but with slightly bigger screen.

"Huawei's #NEXUS: Metal Body, roughly 159.4x78.3x6/8.5mm, likely 5.7" Screen, Front Facing Speakers, Fingerprint Sensor on the Back, USB Type-C," detailed the tipster.

While these details have yet to be confirmed, @OnLeaks have been very accurate on his leaks on other devices in the past.

Should the specifications prove true, then LG's Nexus 5 would be within the same size of the iPhone 6 while Huawei's Nexus 6 will be very similar to the iPhone 6 Plus.

It is also possible that the two devices will feature several similar specs with the difference played only on the size of the gadgets.

CNET noted that it's highly likely that the USB Type-C port will be made for the upcoming devices since Google has already announced support for this feature on its recent annual I/O conference.

Apart from the hardware, another leak on the upcoming devices' internal specs have been revealed online.

Gizmo China reported that LG's Nexus 5 could feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 processor with 4 GB of RAM and an internal memory of up to 64GB. Battery life has also been noted at 3180mAh.

Meanwhile, Huawei's Nexus 6 could have a 21MP rear shooter with an AMOLED display.

LG and Huawei have not issued any statement to confirm the reports.
