Teen Choice Awards 2015: Nominees, Appearances and Performers
The 2015 Teen Choice Awards are coming soon on Aug. 16, and the list of presenters, performers and nominees is all set.
Set to host the award show, which celebrates the most popular stars in film, television, music and social media, are "Jane The Virgin" star Gina Rodriguez, "Fast & Furious" franchise star Ludacris and "Drake & Josh" star Josh Peck.
The three actors will lead the ceremony, which will include performances from 5 Seconds of Summer, Little Mix and Jussie Smollett and Yazz from the hit television show "Empire."
The music nominations include Choice Male Artist, up for which are Jason Derulo, Nick Jonas, Shawn Mendes, Pitbull, Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith. Jonas is also up for Choice Music Single: Male for "Jealous" and competing with Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber.
Bieber is also up for Choice Break-Up Song for "Where Are You Know?" against Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift featuring Kendrick Lamar, Meghan Trainor, Elle King and Ed Sheeran. Gomez and Swift are competing against each other for Choice Female Artist along with rapper Iggy Azalea, Rihanna, Demi Lovato and Ariana Grande.
Taylor Swift, according to Billboard, leads with six nominations which also include Choice Collaboration, Choice Summer Tour, Choice Summer Music Star and Choice Party Song. Other stars with several nominations include Ariana Grande, Iggy Azalea, Selena Gomez and One Direction.
Other awards include Choice Breakout Artist, Choice Country Song, Choice R&B/Hip Hop Song, Choice Rock Song, vying for which are bands like Imagine Dragons, Fall Out Boy, Twenty One Pilots, X Ambassadors and singers Hozier and George Ezra.
According to Variety, "The Vampire Diaries," "Furious 7" and "Pretty Little Liars" lead with the five nominations each in the film and television categories, and "Avengers: Age of Ultron," "Pitch Perfect 2, "Empire," "Insurgent" and "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1," all with four nominations.
Actresses Jennifer Lawrence, Mackenzie Foy, Lily James, Mila Kunis, Scarlett Johansson and Britt Robertson are up for Choice Movie Actress: Sci-fi/Fantasy. Robertson is also up for Choice Actress Drama with Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon, Blake Lively, Kristen Stewart, Felicity Jones and Chloe Grace Moretz.
In the male categories are stars like brothers Liam and Chris Hemsworth, James Franco, Ansel Elgort, Theo James, Dylan O'Brien, Robert Downey Jr., Channing Tatum, George Clooney, Vin Diesel and the late Paul Walker.
Other awards include those honoring fashion, sports, social media. These categories include Choice Hottie: Male and Female, Choice Athlete, Choice Web Star, Social Media King and Queen, Choice Viner, Choice Instagrammer and more.
Presenting the awards will be Disney stars Bella Thorne and Laura Marano, "Scream Queens" stars Emma Roberts, Keke Palmer and Lea Michele, actresses Chloe Grace Moretz, Victoria Justice, Michelle Rodriguez, Sarah Hyland, singers Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande, actors Jack Black, Jake T. Austin, Gregg Sulkin, Vin Diesel, Scott Eastwood, Josh Hutcherson, television host Cat Deeley and social media stars Bethany Mota and Tyler Oakley.
Groups who will be presenting include One Direction, R5 and Fifth Harmony, who will be presenters of the Candie's Choice Style Icon Award.
