Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and you may be scrambling for a last-minute gift for your sweetheart. But maybe -- just maybe -- your sweetheart is a little unconventional. Maybe, just maybe, flowers and candy aren't her thing, and you're looking for a strange but effective gift for her for Dia del Amor. Here, then, is our top 5 list of weird (but fun!) things to do for Valentine's Day!

1. Get Her a Private Chef Class: Beware -- this could backfire into her thinking that you think she can't cook! Nevertheless, if presented right, you and your sweetheart can have some fun, and learn some new recipes, in the process of taking the private class. The average cost of something like this is about $40-$50 per hour of the chef's time.

2. Be A Tourist In Your Own Town: This is especially fun if you live in someplace like NYC, where there's plenty of "tourist traps" for you to explore. Try a Valentine's date at a chain restaurant, followed by games at Chuck E. Cheese's, and cap it off with a double-decker bus ride through Times Square. Ersatz!

3. Extreme Sports: Does your sweetie like to BMX, skateboard, roller-blade... or even sky-dive? Consider taking him/her on an extreme sports adventure s/he won't soon forget!

4. Alternative Bouquets: Roses are for squares. Consider getting your girl a potted plant, some new additions to her herb garden, or even -- for the more Zen amongst us -- a bonsai plant!
