Macklemore may have thought he pleased the rap community when he told Kendrick Lamar that he got robbed at this year's Grammy Awards via text message. Not surprisingly, some people in hip hop still aren't happy. Surprisingly, it is hip hop's nice guy, Drake, who is calling Macklemore out.

After the Grammy Awards, Macklemore texted Kendrick Lamar and told him that he should have won Best Rap Album for Good Kid, M.A.D.D. City, which went to Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' The Heist. Afterwards, the rapper uploaded a screenshot of the message onto his Instagram page.

"I was like, 'You won. Why are you posting your text message? Just chill. Take your W, and if you feel you didn't deserve it, go get better -- make better music,'" Drake said in an interview with Rolling Stone. "It felt cheap. It didn't feel genuine. Why do that? Why feel guilt? You think those guys would pay homage to you if they won?"

According to Drake, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' win does not mean that they made the best rap album of the year.

"This is how the world works: He made a brand of music that appealed to more people than me, Hov, Kanye and Kendrick," Drake explained. "Whether people wanna say it's racial, or whether it's just the fact that he tapped into something we can't tap into. That's just how the cards fall. Own your shit."

In addition to Best Rap Album, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis won three other awards: Best New Artist, Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song. Kendrick Lamar was a nominee for every award Macklemore & Ryan Lewis won. Drake was also nominated for Best Rap Album, Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for two different songs (one as a featured artist).

"To name just Kendrick? That shit made me feel funny," Drake continued. "No, in that case, you robbed everybody. We all need text messages!"

Kendrick Lamar has stated that Macklemore & Ryan Lewis earned their Grammy awards.

"It's well deserved. He did what he did, man," he said. "He went out there and hustled and grinded. Everything happens for a reason. The universe comes back around. That's how it go."

"[Kendrick Lamar] deserved best rap album ... I'm honored and completely blown away to win anything much less 4 Grammys," Macklemore said in the picture of the text message's caption. "But in that category, he should have won IMO. And that's taking nothing away from The Heist. Just giving GKMC it's proper respect..."
