After nearly four years of retirement, former world boxing champion, Antonio Margarito, is returning this fall and even wants to go against two of the most talked about boxers these days.

The "Tijuana Tornado" is determined to stage his comeback and face the "elite" boxers, World Boxing Council middleweight champion, Miguel Cotto, and the Mexican rising superstar, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, Boxing Scene reported in June.

Recently, his decision became more solid as he found a world-class trainer, Robert Garcia, willing to support him in his journey back to professional boxing. Citing Mediotiempo.com, Boxing News 24 informed that Margarito aims to be back this November or December.

"I already talked to Robert. I will train with him. I know if I want that big fight I should be with Robert. First I want to train for three more months, and then do one more fight before looking for a big fight," the 37-year-old returning boxer told ESPN Deportes via Boxing Scene.

Between Cotto and "Canelo," the Puerto Rican fighter may be the ultimate warrior the American born-Mexican would really want to clash with if given the chance.

In 2008, Cotto and Margarito met for the first time at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and it was the "Tijuana Tornado" challenger who was declared the new World Boxing Association welterweight champion after the Puerto Rican bowed on the 11th round via a TKO defeat, per ESPN. However, after three years, Cotto reportedly was able to redeem himself at the Madison Square Garden in New York when he captured the WBA super welterweight crown from Margarito.

It would be interesting how a fueled Margarito will fare in the ring after a long break. However, a great coach like Garcia could help him on his comeback. Garcia also helped Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. gain his confidence to be back in the game and even seek out big fighters like Gennady Golovkin.

Still, Margarito has a long way to go if he wants to have a shot against the WBC middleweight champ and Alvarez. Two months ago, his weight was 175 pounds, a far cry from his goal of 154 pounds to lure middleweight fighters like Cotto or "Canelo."

According to BoxRec, Margarito (38-8, 27KOs), came out of devastating back-to-back losses from eight-division world champion, Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao, and World Boxing Council middleweight titleholder, Miguel Cotto, in 2010 and 2011 respectively.

His defeat against the Filipino icon was the main reason he got a career setback as his right eye was extremely injured on this fight, leading to hospitalization and operation, per an ESPN report. Then, a year after, the same eye was gravely hit in his rematch with the Puerto Rican fighter, leading to a stoppage defeat on the ninth round via a referee technical decision (RTD).
