V-Day in LA: Will Angelenos Find Love on Today's Commute in the City of Angels?
Have you ever tried speed dating -- on the rails? Well if you are a resident of Los Angeles, Calif., otherwise known as an "Angeleno" you might get lucky in love today if you ride the Los Angeles Metro.
According to CBS Los Angeles, if you take the train today (in case you weren't aware, LA has a subway, and not everyone is stuck in traffic in their cars) a Valentine's Day lunchtime "Speed Dating On The Red Line" event is taking place at seven Red Line stations throughout Los Angeles.
While you might be reluctant to take the chance at love, you always have the option to get off at the next stop if Cupid's arrow hasn't struck.
Where can you register to find love?
Metro staff will be available to register speed daters from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. today at the following stations: Union Station, Civic Center/Grand Park, 7th Street/Metro, Wilshire/Vermont, Vermont/Santa Monica, Hollywood/Highland and North Hollywood.
How can you tell who is looking for love in all the right places?
Literally follow your heart and it will show you the way -- there will be specially decorated Speed Dating Train Cars with hearts and arrows where the event will be taking place.
Those in search for love will receive a wristband and board the Speed Dating Train Cars, which will be the last car on trains heading to North Hollywood and the first car on trains heading toward Union Station. Once on board, Metro staff will explain the event guidelines to participants.
"If you're one of those who thinks that it would be a great story to tell your grandkids that you met your future husband or wife on a train, then this is the event to go to," Metro spokesperson Anna Chen told CBS Los Angeles.
According to officials, two "Metro Cupids" also will be riding the Red Line during the event to help guide love-seekers. Hopefully, they will look like actual cupids with bows and arrows!
If you happen to find true love and have this adorable LA love story to tell, then you can get hitched in the City of Angels as well.
"And for those who do find their future spouse: Union Station does host weddings," Chen added.
