Fans awaiting the arrival of "Halo 5: Guardians" will be disappointed to learn that video game developer 343 Industries has confirmed that the "Big Team Battle" multiplayer mode will not launch alongside the game in October.

Video game trends in the past years have seen a lot of fans looking forward to a title's multiplayer mode on top of the main campaign and "Halo 5: Guardians" is not exempt from this.

However, those waiting to get their hands and play the "Big Team Battle" multiplayer mode in "Halo 5: Guardians" will be unable to do so once the title comes out in fall. 343 Industries announced that the popular multiplayer mode will not make it in time for the game's release date, noted IGN.

But that doesn't mean that the fans will be unable to experience a large-scale play from the highly anticipated game. Studio Head Josh Holmes was quick to direct fans to another mode called "Warzone" in the game that works similar to BTB.

Holmes responded to a fan's query on Twitter regarding BTB.

"Warzone is the evolution of BTB, on steroids. We'll also be adding a more traditional BTB mode post-launch," wrote the studio executive.

The new multiplayer mode, which was unveiled at the E3 event via a video trailer, will feature a 12v12 campaign where the players will go against AI-controlled opponents, said Polygon.

The battle will be situated in a map that is dubbed as the "largest" in the whole Halo franchise, with four times the size of anything the developers have created in the past.

While the new mode is intended to appeal to BTB fans, the two remain different from one another.

Game Rant noted that for Warzone, "players will see three different phases on each map, ranging from PvE to PvP combat." Aside from that, there will also be leveling within the mode that will see players progress as they unlock achievements. Weapons and vehicles that players can use in the game will also depend on the level they are in.

According to Tech Times, Warzone also offers players the option to have in-game purchases of weapons to help them succeed in their missions.

For those who seem unsure with the multiplayer mode, Warzone, 343 Industries has assured its fans that "Big Team Battle" will still arrive for the title at a later date. However, the video game developer did not give an exact release date and timeline as to when fans can expect it.

"Halo 5: Guardians" will come out for the Xbox One on October 27.
