Mariah Carey Has Little Respect For Reality TV Stars: 'You Don't Really Have to do Much'
Mariah Carey is making no secret of or apologies for her lack of respect for reality TV stars.
In the "Hero" singer's galaxy, they simply haven't earned the right to shine as much as those enshrined to be included on the Hollywood Walk of Fame such as herself.
"Some people's goal is to be famous, not to have a craft or an art that they're famous for," Billboard reports she told reporters during a recent press stop in Israel. "Today, you can be famous just from being on a reality ... well, doing... you don't really have to do much, but you kinda gotta do a lot. And then your whole life is just about being a celebrity and that's what some people aspire to, because it's easy and because then everybody knows them and all they see is the bright side of fame."
Carey went out to insist she could never do reality TV, hinting that the glare can be too bright and the never-ending performance too much to deal with.
"I couldn't handle being on a reality show, I couldn't handle having people with cameras on me all the time," she said. "It's already like that, it's too much."
Just the same, expect to being seeing a lot more of Carey real soon. She recently signed on to star in the Lee Daniels' co-produced Fox Network smash hit "Empire," alongside costars Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard. Carey and Daniels previously worked together on the movie "Precious."
Even as her schedule appears to get busier by the day, Carey still seems to manage to make time for new Australian, billionaire boyfriend James Packer. The two have been recently seen traveling the globe together, including stops in Italy, Cannes and St. Tropez.
