Recently, Microsoft took pride on their exclusive game lineup as well as their Xbox One backwards compatibility feature. Now, Microsoft is rumored to release a new Xbox One Mini that is significantly smaller and has a quieter profile.

According to Attack of the Fan Boy, the Xbox One Mini will not have a Blu-Ray player and users will have to depend on digital downloads to acquire the video game in their gaming console. Should the Xbox Mini makes its debut this October, the size will be pretty much one-third of the original Xbox One console.

Microsoft has been gearing up towards October as they still have a whole lineup of devices to launch including the Surface Pro 4, Nokia Lumia and the Microsoft Band 2. With these on hand, fans expect that the rumored Xbox One Mini will also be featured this October. While there is no substantial proof that the Xbox One Mini is going to make it for the October launch, fans are hopeful that there is indeed a "Mini" that will be released soon.

According to TechnoBuffalo, there are several reasons why there should be an Xbox One Mini on the works. This includes the tight competition between Xbox and its main rival, PlayStation 4.

Techno Buffalo further notes that in terms of marketing, Xbox is lagging behind on the U.K. and North America markets. The dropping of Blu-Ray is very significant as games will all soon be in their DLC mode and discs will eventually be outdated.

The Xbox One's physical feature, particularly its size, has been a concern lately for gamers. While it's safe to say that Microsoft will eventually come up with a slimmer and more practical body, Techno Buffalo thinks that this may not be the right time for the Xbox One Mini.

Xbox One recently showcased a new update as well as a revamped controller during the E3 event. Putting the Xbox One Mini on the market would make the Xbox One updates pointless.

For now, according to The Verge, Microsoft is concentrating on the Lumia and Surface Pro 4 debut. The Lumia line-up will consist of the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL while the Surface Pro 4 will come as a standalone feature. All there is to expect now is how the new Windows 10 will be incorporated into these new hardware devices from Microsoft.

According to the report, Microsoft has not yet released an official announcement for an October press event, but the tech giant will have a Windows 10 event at the IFA conference in Berlin in September.
