Spider-Man is still the most mysterious figure in the upcoming "Captain America: Civil War." Everyone knows that he is in the movie and who will play the iconic character. However, what his role and function in the story will be remain the biggest mysteries of all.

Who could blame Marvel for it of course? Reveal too much and you get backlash one way or another. Some fans will hate having the story spoiled, while others will complain about the disappointing use of the superhero.

However, with the modern world, spoilers run rampant with relative ease, and it seems that there is now a new rumor running around about what the superhero will be doing in the upcoming movie. And this is no minor detail, but a potentially huge one.

According to heroic Hollywood, Spider-Man will do battle with Captain America.

"I don't have exact details or specifics just YET but expect a major showdown between these two," the website reports.

That could confirm previous rumors that Spider-Man would be joining Iron Man's team in the upcoming film.

Aside from this fact, most believe that Spider-Man's identity will not be a secret in this movie. None of the Avengers in the franchise thus far have kept their identities secret: Tony Stark famously revealed his identity with a smile, while characters including Thor and Black Widow do not even have masks to conceal their alter-egos.

Spider-Man's identity has always been a point of contention when it comes to the question of secrecy. However, it is likely that he will follow in the footsteps of the other Avengers and unveil himself as Peter Parker.

The upcoming movie features just about every single Marvel superhero revealed to date with the exception of Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy.

The movie is slated for a big opening on May 6, 2016.
