The rise of B-grade TV movies on Syfy has been quick since the enormous success of the cable network's launch of "Sharknado." This time, the network will be taking a more mainstream approach to cash in on the post-apocalyptic craze with a zombie western, "Dead 7," according to Deadline.

The film will be made by "Sharkanado's" producer The Asylum. It will also follow some of the same themes by adding classic pop culture stars to the cast. This time, they are focusing on the classic boy-banders Nick Carter (Backstreet Boys), Joey Fatone (NSYNC), A.J. McLean (Backstreet Boys) and Howie Dorough (Backstreet Boys).

Rounding out the cast as a celebrity name is Carrie Keagan ("Up Close With Carrie Keagan"), who will star opposite Carter's leading character. Keagan is the most recent addition to the TV movie's cast.

The film, which is expected to be just as cheesy as "Sharknado," will take place in the Old West. Except this time, the Old West takes on alternative history, and the desolate landscape is post-apocalyptic. The barrenness of the open expanse, backed up by a town in the middle of nowhere, pits the boy-banders against the townspeople and - you said it - zombies.

The no-holds-barred style of the Old West was just as lawless as the inherent theme of the movie, so it could be more than just an alternative history piece.

The boy-banders will be gunslingers that had no other choice but to take up in the town, after being stranded and trapped by the zombie hordes. They must decide whether or not they are going to protect the people of the town or just fend for themselves, as most outlaws did in those days.

There is word yet on when shooting for the movie will commence or when it is scheduled to air on the cable network.
