Kelis Reveals She’s Pregnant at AfroPunk
On Saturday, Aug. 22, R&B and Hip-Hop singer Kelis debuted her baby bump while performing during the annual AfroPunk festival in NYC.
GlobalGrind reports that prior to her AfroPunk performance, Kelis took a hiatus from music. GG suggests that Kelis' music hiatus might have been due to her pregnancy.
All Hip Hop reports that Kelis is already mother to a son, whom she had with her ex, Nas. Kelis' first son is named Knight.
GG adds that it is unclear who the father of Kelis' second child is. However, last year she was romantically linked to Michael Mora, who reportedly calls the singer his wife on Instagram.
A day before her AfroPunk performance, Kelis celebrated her 35th birthday. During her performance, fans took to social media to post photos of Kelis in a bright pink kimono ensemble.

Back in 2014, during an interview with Fuse, Kelis revealed that she prefers a singer's music when she is pregnant.
"I feel like with a lot of women who were pregnant, it's usually my favorite album of theirs, which I don't realize until after," she revealed. "I mean, you're literally full of life."
Kelis also revealed that being a mother has strengthened her writing skills.
"I'm generally comfortable in my own skin and I really do love being a mother. I think it comes across in the writing because you can't really ignore it, you know?" she said.
"My writing process is always the same. I want to write songs that obviously speak to who I am," the singer explained. "Hopefully people can somehow relate to."
In addition to her love of music and love of being a mother, Kelis is also passionate about cooking. Last year, during an interview with the Breakfast Club, Kelis discussed why she named her last album "Food" and revealed that she was developing a new cooking show.
