The transfer rumors in the world of soccer are heating up with the transfer window set to close at the end of August as per a report from The Telegraph. Manchester United are trying to lure Barcelona star, Neymar, away from Camp Nou and Chelsea are looking to replace John Terry with Real Madrid star, Raphael Varane.

Neymar to Manchester United?

In a report from The Sun, United have held secret talks to buy Brazilian international superstar, Neymar. A top Barcelona source said that the Red Devils' vice-chairman, Ed Woodward, have made three trips to Barcelona in the last two months via the Pedro talks that never materialized.

There is no formal bid yet for Neymar and United want a marquee signing to signal their return to European football. Real Madrid's Gareth Bale and Bayern München's Thomas Müller are other names linked to United.

In the same report, Neymar is said to be aware that a move to United will make him the club's top superstar as well as enable him to win the Ballon d'Or. Paris St. Germain are said to be also interested in Neymar as Zlatan Ibrahimovic is at the end of his contract.

The source told The Sun, "United are one of the biggest clubs in the world so it is right they should be chasing a player who has the potential to be the best player on the planet."

Raphael Varane to Chelsea?

Mail Online reports that Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, has his eyes on Raphael Varane as the replacement for Chelsea legend, John Terry. The English defender is already 34 years old and has been substituted at half-time in last week's loss against Manchester City.

Chelsea has been chasing Everton's John Stones as a possible replacement, but after four bids, there is still no transfer. Mourinho is a fan of Varane, and ever since the Frenchman left Madrid, he has been trying to lure him but to no avail.

Madrid values Varane highly, but they recently signed Sergio Ramos and Marcelo to extensions and he may play a part-time role again, fuelling rumors of a possible transfer, according to a report from Football FanCast.
