In what appears to be a mugging outside a restaurant in Minneapolis last Friday, "Supernatural" actor Misha Collins was attacked and beaten by an unidentified assailant.

Collins was in town for a convention for his incredibly popular show, when the actor took a break from the action to dine at a local restaurant in the area, according to Us Weekly. It was only after he left the establishment that the ordeal took place.

Collins suffered minor cuts and bruises, and he has already tweeted to his fans that he is okay. Although he was not present at the panel Saturday, he still reassured fans that he was okay. It appears as though the actor was still recovering from his ordeal, and it is clear that police are looking into the matter.

"Hey guys! Thanks for all the well-wishes! Just want u to know I've just got some minor scrapes. I'm totally fine! Love u guys," Collins wrote in his tweet.

Collins plays fan favorite Castiel in the series, where he recently came on as a main cast member, previously recurring. Castiel was an angel that went into the depths of hell to bring back Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) after he was cursed to live out an eternity in the underworld.

Castiel played a recurring theme with his character on the show for a few seasons before being bumped up to the main cast along with Mark Sheppard, who plays the demon Crowley in the show.

Us Weekly reports it was fellow cast mate Jim Beaver who broke the news to fans of what happened to Collins on Facebook.

"My buddy and 'Supernatural' colleague Misha Collins was followed out of a restaurant in Minneapolis by three men last night and beaten and robbed," Beaver wrote in the Facebook post, which has already been deleted. "He's all right, more or less, with some stitches and a fat lip."
