Nintendo fans found out when they get to play the latest versions of their favorite games this week as the Japanese software house unveiled the release dates for its Wii U and 3DS console titles.

Details on Wii U games Devil's Third -- an action-adventure hack and slash shooter -- and Star Fox Zero -- a 3D scrolling shooter centered around aircraft combat -- had been scarce until now and thus received particular attention from players: The former is set to debut on Dec. 11, while the latter will come out on Nov. 20, IGN noted.

Also generating some buzz in the video game world are 3DS' The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes, set to premiere on Oct. 23, and the localization of Yo-Kai Watch, also a 3DS title, which now has a Nov. 6 release date, according to Gamerant.com

The remaining dates for the Wii U, as announced by Nintendo, are as follows:

  • Super Mario Maker: Sept. 11

  • Skylanders SuperChargers and LEGO Dimensions: Sept. 20

  • New Super Mario Bros. U, New Super Luigi U Combo and Yoshi's Wooly World: Oct. 16

  • Just Dance 2016 and Guitar Hero Live: Oct. 20

  • Fatal Frame: Maiden Of Black: Oct. 22

  • Xenoblade Chronicles X: Dec. 4

For the 3DS console, meanwhile, the release dates are the following:

  • Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer: Sept. 25

  • Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash: Oct. 9

  • Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon: Nov. 20

For a number of titles, including Wii U's Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival -- a party game spinoff of the popular Animal Crossing series -- and 3DS' Sonic Boom Fire & Ice -- an action-adventure platform game -- the specific dates have yet to be set; they are, however, expected to hit the stores in time for the 2015 holiday season.

Hyrule Warriors Legends, a hack-and-slash action video game that has turned out to be one of the bestselling games on the Wii U, meanwhile, will not be available for Nintendo's 3DS until the first quarter of 2016, the software house announced.
