The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is a high-powered device with great features. However, there is one feature that Samsung overlooked, and it is related to the stylus known as the S Pen, Tech Radar reports.

The S Pen is designed to be inserted back into its housing with the point first. The new design of the Galaxy Note 5 allows for it to be inserted the wrong way, which could damage key components of the rest of the phone.

Previous models of the Galaxy Note would only allow the S Pen to be inserted the correct way, eliminating the chance of an owner inserting the S Pen the wrong way.

The Galaxy Note 5 allows owners to insert the S Pen upside down. This means that it could get stuck in the slot or damage the mechanism that detects the S Pen when it is pulled out.

Samsung is confirming that the issue is real and that users need to be careful that they are inserting the S Pen the way they are told in the instructions.

"We highly recommend our Galaxy Note 5 users follow the instructions in the user guide to ensure they do not experience such an unexpected scenario caused by reinserting the S pen in the other way around," a Samsung spokesperson said.

Galaxy Note 5 owners need to be very careful that they insert the S Pen the correct way because features could become inactive if the S Pen mechanism is damaged. The Galaxy Note 5 usually automatically launches the S Pen menu when the S Pen is removed from its housing when the screen is on. When the screen is off, the note-taking app will pop up. If the mechanism is damaged, these automatic features will not happen.

Users could easily make the mistake of inserting the blunt end first instead of the point end first. When they insert it the wrong way, there is no indication or resistance to tell them they are doing it wrong, so this mistake could occur much more often than Samsung wants it to.

Android Police believes the S Pen design is a major flaw that could permanently break some features on the phone.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is one of Samsung's latest phablet style smartphones with a large screen and S Pen stylus.
