How Did Beyonce Lose Weight? Personal Trainer Reveals Singer's Plant-Based Diet and Workout Secrets
Jay-Z and Beyoncé went on a 22-day vegan diet not too long ago, they were spotted at famous vegetarian restaurants in Los Angeles several times -- and of course, it is hard to not to notice Mrs. Carter's great weight loss, as she flaunts her newly slimmed-down body in her latest self-titled visual album. Now, her personal trainer Marco Borges reveals the details of the singer's diet meal plan and workout secrets.
"She is all about health and wellness," says Borges, who has met the Magna Carta Holy Grail rapper seven years ago through Pharrell Williams. "She just wants to feel good."
He reveals Queen Bey's favorite snack, which are "the 22Days Nutrition bars. Her favorite flavors are Peanut Chocolate-Chip Nirvana, Cherry Chocolate Bliss and Pineapple Chocolate-Chip Wonder."
He also talks about what people want to know the most: Beyoncé's current diet. "The transition [from vegan] was fairly easy," says Marco Borges. "Because [now] she's sticking to a mostly plant-based diet with some fish here and there."
Not only the "Partition" singer watches out what she consumes daily, but also she works out very hard to maintain her envious figure by doing "body-weight squats, lunges and plies, along with plyometric exercises and sprint intervals."
The personal trainer adds that the "Drunk in Love" duo is in the healthy regime together. "They're like every other couple, they love spending time together, they'll work out together whenever it's possible, whenever their touring schedules allow," he says. "They'll absolutely jump in the gym together whenever they can, she'll be running and he'll be on a bike, or she'll be jumping rope and he'll be running."
So what do they listen to during the workout session? "They listen to everything. Jay really feels that music shouldn't have genres, it's either good or bad. They have great playlists, if they were DJs they'd get paid million," says Borges. "If one of her songs comes on she'll sing along."
