The Xbox One might not be selling as much as Microsoft had hoped it would, but expect the new platform to get a serious jolt in interest this March. Respawn Entertainment's new intellectual property Titanfall is coming out then and it's going to be Halo-like big.

How big are we talking? Well, the first-person shooter video game will feature twelve on twelve combat. Each team will feature as many as six human players. The other twelve players will be bots, but they won't get in your way thanks to some sophisticated artificial intelligence programming. Does that sound enticing? If so, you can play the game for free before its release.

This past weekend a previously close beta test was opened up to the general public. The beta will give players an early look at the mech vs. solider combat. Anyone with a gaming PC or Xbox One is eligible to partake in the action. So why not fire up that VCR-like console of yours and download the beta today?

Now in the extremely unlikely event that every single Xbox One owner tried to play Titanfall at the same time, Respawn's servers would have to start rejecting people.

"We have limited server capacity for the beta, but would be good to hit that ceiling," Respawn founder Vince Zampella tweeted on Saturday evening. He later tweeted, "Ok, just heard from [Respawn programmer Jon Shiring]. His words are 'Let's break it', so the plan is to make the beta fully open and have you max stress it!

"All the switches need to be flipped, and there are probably lots! It will take some number of time units to do it all!"

In addition to the March 11 release of Titanfall on Windows and Xbox One, the game will be released for the venerable Xbox 360 on March 25. Of course, the game won't look and sound as good, but Xbox 360 owners won't be left out of the loop. One the other hand, PS3/4 owners were shafted. Take that, Japan!
