The series premiere of companion series "Fear The Walking Dead" debuted on AMC last night and fans got a dose of the event horizon for the apocalypse. Episode 2 is titled "So Close, Yet So Far" and will air on AMC next Sunday on Aug. 30 at 9 p.m. EDT, according to TV Guide.

With fans knowing what they know now, the prequel series "FTWD" has taken on a slow burn, which is directly the opposite of what the parent series "The Walking Dead" has been so famous for.

"TWD" started out with a bang, the onslaught of the zombie apocalypse. The Walkers came at protagonists from all different directions and people were filleted in the first season by herds of zombies.

"FTWD" is the beginning of the Zombie Apocalypse, and now, the herds are a little thin in numbers.

Next Sunday, according to Spoilers Guide, Madison (Kim Dickens) will not only have to contend with the doom that is coming her way, but she has to get her son Nick (Frank Dillane) right first. He is struggling with a crippling withdrawal from his drug habit and the debilitating toll it is taking on his body, as well as his sanity.

Although he broke out of the hospital to find his dealer and get some answers about what happened to his girlfriend, he becomes enthralled in the warmth of his mother, and she gets him back on the right path.

Travis (Cliff Curtis) will also part ways with the family in order to go look for his own son, who is out in the city of Los Angeles somewhere. He will fight against all odds to bring him back safely. But the city is in the midst of a zombie rebirth, and as avid fans know all too well, he will be facing the forefront of the herds soon enough.
