Mobile security is important and AT&T is making it a priority with their latest update for HTC One (M8) and HTC One M9.

According to Phone Arena, the latest AT&T update for the flagship phones includes a security patch for the infamous Stagefright bug. This should prevent the bug from breaching the mobile and getting access to your files. The OTA update for the HTC One (M8) is 28MB with the new software version 4.28.502.2. For the newer HTC One M9, the update is 55MB big with the software version 2.6.502.18.

Some precautions advised for those updating their AT&T devices are backing up important files for safekeeping, although these are not expected to be touched by the software upgrade. There are very few flashy upgrades in this newest version, but it's important to update the phone anyway to protect it from the bug that is sweeping various Android gadgets.

The Stagefright security breach targets Android mobile phones specifically. Android Central explained that it is an exploit that's in the operating system itself. The attack could be launched through a video sent to the device and since some applications automatically download the video as soon as it is received, there's a chance that the breach could enter the device without the knowledge of the owner.

Meanwhile, previous reports say that the new ultra-powerful HTC One M10 is slated to be released in October 2015. Also known as the HTC O2, the brand's newest handset will feature powerful hardware including the efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, which should address overheating problems in the previous version.

It is reported to be fitted with a 5-inch or 6-inch Quad HD touchscreen, 4GB of RAM, an internal storage capacity of 64GB and 128GB and a 3,500mAh battery. Uses may enjoy a 20-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front shooter, plus additional features like a Touch ID and fingerprint scanner. Some rumors also claim that the new phone will be waterproof.

Another much-awaited phone that will beef up the HTC lineup is the A9 (Aero). Leaked photos on Android Authority give HTC fans a peek at the device beside the latest iPhone. The Aero will reportedly gain the distinction of being one of the first smartphones with MediaTek's high end deca-core Helio X20 SoC. Among its other rumored features are a 5.2-inch QHD resolution display, 4GB of RAM and a large 3,500mAh battery. As the photos show, it will have a glass and metal body.
