The first "WWE SmackDown" since "SummerSlam" was taped, and it includes the return of The Dudley Boyz.

The Wyatt Family first opened the show, with Bray Wyatt introducing its latest member, Braun Stroman. Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns interrupt for a confrontation but the Wyatts back down before any action occurs.

The Ascension were next in the ring, and they cut a promo against The Dudleys. The Dudleys appeared for their match against the Ascension and won with the 3D. The Dudleys were about to put Konnor through the table until WWE Tag Team Champions New Day appeared with anti-Dudley signs. The Dudleys still put Konnor through the table as New Day watched.

Backstage, Kevin Owens was interviewed ahead of his match against Neville. Owens defeated Neville in a well-performed match, which saw Owens use the pop-up powerbomb.

Backstage once again with Becky Lynch and Charlotte confronting The Bella Twins. Brie and Nikki Bella tried to turn Charlotte and Lynch against Paige, but it didn't work. Charlotte and Lynch would go on to defeat the twins in a tag-team match with Charlotte scoring the pin.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins delivered a lengthy promo against Sting, his "Night of Champions" opponent for the title. Sting did not appear on the show.

Dolph Ziggler and Intercontinental Champion Ryback defeated Big Show and Rusev. Ziggler was about to submit to Rusev's accolade until Big Show punched Rusev. Ziggler scored the pin.

It was main event time with Sheamus vs. Ambrose. The Wyatt Family eventually appeared and surrounded the ring. Sheamus hit the Brouge Kick for the 1-2-3 win. Reigns came down to help Ambrose but The Wyatt Family, namely Strouman, dominated as the show ended.

"WWE SmackDown" airs weekly at 8 p.m. EDT on SyFy.
