2015 US Open Tennis Rankings, Tickets & Schedule: Who are the Top Seeds This Year? Where To Buy Tickets?
Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams were seeded No. 1 in the upcoming 2015 US Open, which is scheduled to start on Monday in Flushing Meadows.
Djokovic, as expected, was seeded first in the men's draw as he is currently the top-ranked player in the world after winning the 2015 Australian Open and 2015 Wimbledon. He also finished second in the 2015 French Open.
Roger Federer, who won the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati on Sunday, was seeded No. 2 behind Djokovic. The former world No. 1 tennis player, who was seeded for the 15th consecutive US Open, is still chasing his 18th Grand Slam title and his first since the 2012 Wimbledon.
British star Andy Murray was seeded third, while 2014 runner-up Kei Nishikori and Stan Wawrinka round of the top five. Two-time US Open champion Rafael Nadal was seeded No. 8 behind sixth-seeded Tomas Berdych and seventh-seeded David Ferrer.
In the women's side, Williams topped the list and it was an easy choice. The 33-year-old superstar has swept the first three Grand Slam titles this year and is looking to become the first player to win all four since Steffi Graf successfully took all Grand Slams in 1988, Sporting News reported.
Simona Halep, the 2014 French Open runner-up, was seeded No. 2 behind Williams. Maria Sharapova, Caroline Wozniacki and Petra Kvitova were ranked third, fourth and fifth, respectively.
