‘Supernatural’ Season 11 Spoilers: Jared Padalecki Teases Appearance by God
Biblical origins have already played a theme in the hit CW show "Supernatural." But when the season turns pre-Biblical, that only means that the original entity that set the Darkness away will have to return to clean up the mess, according to series star Jared Padalecki when he spoke with Entertainment Tonight.
This is something that predates God and Lucifer. The Darkness was put away by God in the beginning, and now that it has been let back out, that means all the rules have spilled off the table, and it is up to everybody and everything on the show to put it back in its place. That also may include Lucifer himself, if he ever gets out of the cage that Sammy put him in back on Season 5.
So now that the story has gone pre-Biblical, does that mean that God will have to show up with his all-knowing wisdom and save the day?
"I think [the Darkness] certainly opens the door for Lucifer and/or God to pop up," Padalecki said. "We're certainly going back to that and going a bit more biblical and having our take on the writings that didn't make it into the Bible."
Fans should be aware that all of the good and bad characters that have shown up on the show will be equally vested in the like-minded idea that The Darkness will have to be controlled and put back in its place. So going back and getting Lucifer out of the cage is a likely scenario for the season.
This could also mean that the Winchesters will have to team up with Metatron at some point as well. So the season could play out with the Winchesters teaming up with all their enemies to take out the granddaddy of all Big Bads.
"Since we know God's a scribe, we may have to invite him along for the ride," Padalecki said.
