‘Mr. Robot’ Finale News: Episode Postponed Due to Live Virginia Shooting Similarities
The finale for the hit USA network TV show "Mr. Robot" has been postponed due to the tragedy that happened on live TV Wednesday morning in Virginia.
Although the events of series are fictional, there will be a scene in the finale episode for the series that plays out in a similar way that the tragic events unfolded on live TV, which left news reporter Alison Parker and TV cameraman Adam Ward dead at the hands of a shooter, according to Variety.
There has been no word yet as to the details of the scene that similarly portrays the real life event that unfolded today, but the network released a statement regarding the postponement.
"The previously filmed season finale of 'Mr. Robot' contains a graphic scene similar in nature to today's tragic events in Virginia. Out of respect to the victims, their families and colleagues, and our viewers, we are postponing tonight's episode. Our thoughts go out to all those affected during this difficult time," the statement from USA network read.
According to Deadline, the network decided at the last minute to pull the episode from air following the tragedy that unfolded today.
The thrilling hacker drama has been a hit with fans and garnered quite a cult following. In place of tonight's finale, the network will be airing an encore showing of the penultimate episode, which leads up to the finale, tonight instead.
The actual season finale for the show will air instead next Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 10 p.m. EDT.
The tragic events this morning that unfolded on live TV are thought to have been committed by a disgruntled ex-employee for the news station WDBJ. For more information on that story, be sure to check in with Latin Post updates regularly.
