The Cleveland Browns have not named a starting quarterback for the 2015 season. They have Josh McCown and Johnny Manziel to pick from. In a report from The Washington Post, McCown will be named as starting quarterback because the Browns are not ready to put their trust to Manziel.

The 22-year-old sophomore had a rough first season and spent his offseason in a treatment facility for alcohol addiction. But Manziel started to rebuild his reputation as a potential quarterback option and kept himself out of trouble, as per Cleveland.com.

He started his rookie season with a $12,000 fine from the NFL after flipping the bird in a preseason game against the Washington Red Skins, as reported by ESPN. He only started two games, completing only 18 passes with two interceptions before being sidelined for the rest of the season with an injured hamstring.

According to the Business Insider, Manziel had two solid preseason games. In his first preseason game against the Red Skins, he completed seven of 11 passes and showed awareness in the pocket and used his legs to open up a play for his receiver. He also scored a touchdown, rushing for 20 yards.

Manziel's second preseason game against the Buffalo Bills saw him finish with a 10-18 passing without interceptions and a passer rating of 24. For his first two preseason games, he had a 17-29 passing with a 58.6 percent completion rate, one rushing touchdown, one passing touchdown with no interceptions and two sacks.

As per Ohio.com, the former Texas A&M star's solid start was put on hold after a report that he would be shut down for at least a week because of elbow soreness. His MRI revealed no structural damage. Browns' coach, Mike Pettine, said, "We just want to be cautious and not have it develop into something that can continue to bother him throughout the year."

Pettine also revealed that Manziel endured soreness in his elbow since his high school days in Kerrville, Tex. The coach added, "But it being something that he has dealt with before and we're confident that just shutting it down for just a little bit longer, it will all come back. So we're very pleased with where he is, and I just see it as a minor setback."

However, if his elbow trouble continues, the Browns are already planning for the 2016 draft. In a report from NFL.com, the Browns have visited Michigan State's Connor Cook.

If he did not opt to go back to school, Cook would be the third quarterback picked after Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota in this year's draft. According to a separate report from NFL.com, Cook could be compared to Arizona Cardinals' Carson Palmer.
